Eww! This set of 12 unique Creepy Crawly insects is perfect for grossing out your classmates, or from a different perspective, learning about the weird and wonderful creatures that inhabit our beautiful planet.
These fantastically detailed insects, beetles and arachnids are a fantastic for a variety of nursery purposes. Teaching the basics of counting, learning about the things you find in the garden, and of course, good old fashioned play time.
Each insect is around 10cm long - Small enough for a young child to pick up, but big enough that it isn't easily stuffed into a pocket or lost down the back of a cupboard.
How does this resource support the curriculum?
EYFS
Understanding the World – Children may play with small world characters to investigate their environment noticing similarities, differences and details. Children may make observations of animals and find out about similarities and differences between familiar animals.
Expressive Arts and Design – Children may begin to introduce a story line or narrative to their play; building stories around toys and working collaboratively with other children to act out their ideas.
KS1
Traditional Tales, Continuous Provision, Story Telling, Imaginative Writing, Science: animals and their habitats.
